Vehicle Graphics for Garretts Gardens

Garretts Gardens. Voodoo’s Graphics.

GARRETTS GARDENS. VOODOOS VEHICLE LIVERY.

How does your garden grow? Pretty well we’d think if you’re a customer of Garretts Gardens. We were asked recently if we could transform one of the company’s vans into a head-turning mobile promotion with a winning Vehicle Livery. Something that would really stand out among all the other vans that are on the road. We think we succeeded and the client agrees.

Vehicle Graphics for Garretts Gardens

Our winning vehicle livery for Garretts Gardens throws two big punches. Let’s explain. It really engages with the observer and invokes that all important first impression – the impression that readily communicates what the company is and what it is that it does. There’s the first punch. The second happens when you’re close up. A surprising amount of detail reveals itself – subtle shading, little dew-drops on the bright green lettering and the way the design elements really work with the van. That just seems to say that what the company does, it does very well.

For something as impactful, it’s great that we didn’t have to resort to a full wrap of the vehicle. That saved our customer a bob or two and doesn’t limit the effect we were all striving for in any way. How did we do it? In a word – DESIGN. Anyone can throw a bit of lettering at a van. It takes a more involved approach to come up with something better. That comes as standard when you get in touch with Voodoo.

Van graphics are seen, so it’s said, by about six thousand pairs of eyes every hour the vehicle is mobile on the road. We’re not sure where a number like that comes from but we do know one thing. Each and every set of eyes that alights on Garretts Gardens’ new van is going to remember what they’ve seen and take away a very favourable impression.

Convincing Textures from Di-Noc

The hotel reception desk had led a hard life. One bash too many from wheeled suitcases. One more scuff from a hard toe-cap. The one-thousandth set of elbows in a week. All that accumulated wear had taken its toll. Reception looked anything but welcoming.

The solution? Rip out the desk and start again. That meant time. That meant disruption. That meant collateral damage to flooring and other surfaces. The better way by far? Di-Noc – expertly design and applied by Voodoo.

It took a day. It cost a fraction of the asking price for a new reception desk. And the results are amazing. The desk looks new and the effect favourably halos the surrounding areas too.

Di-Noc works anywhere that traditional surfacing and finishing materials work and in thousands of places they never will. The Voodoo team can advise. Get your refurbishment project our of your head and into ours. We know Di-Noc. We know Di-Noc works.

Hoarding Graphics Detail View

Site hoarding graphics – A business in waiting

Temporary hoarding graphics need a permanent solution. We delivered just that to The Lowry Outlet at Salford Quays in Manchester…

Shopping under cover is a great experience but the brands that occupy malls and the malls themselves don’t like empty properties punctuating the rows of thriving businesses, or the site works that are usually making such properties ready for incoming tenants.

Voodoo has a solution for that.

Hoarding Graphics used as backdrop

Our shopping centre site hoardings make empty shops look like businesses in waiting. Rather than confronting shoppers with a dusty window fronting an empty shop or building works, our digitally printed  site hoardings present a fresh face that reflects the mall’s branding or advertises the incoming business for all to see.

It works.

A continuous run of unpunctuated colour helps support the vibrant activity that today’s retail experience demands. More than that. Our site hoarding graphics cut through static imagery like a knife so that passers by are in no doubt that there will soon be a new business open and ready to trade.

Applying and subsequently removing big expanses of printed graphics in a busy shopping centre needs to be done with as little fuss as possible and acres of adhesive material aren’t the most cooperative of things to deal with. We’ve got an answer for that too.

Hoarding Graphics Access Point

We consulted our materials manufacturer Metamark and we were prescribed a new material they’ve just developed called MetaDot. It’s very easy for us to apply. And its a simple matter for our client to remove when the time comes thanks to a particularly clever adhesive Metamark uses. We’ll be using that material again – perhaps you have an application that needs it?

Anywhere theres a big expanse or unadorned surface there’s an opportunity to turn it into a space that works for its living and for yours. Get in touch with Voodoo. We can bring colour, content and life to the most unexpected places. Talk to us about place branding. Talk to us about OoH (thats Out of Home) advertising. We’re all ears and full of ideas.

Rolls Royce factory in Bristol

Wallpaper and murals and some words from Rolls Royce

It’s not every day that your own business philosophy stares at you from a customer’s wallpaper and murals brief…

We produce lots of customised wallpaper, wall coverings and wall graphics at the Voodoo DesignWorks and it ends up in lots of places. We’ve produced wallpaper for kids rooms. We’ve made branded commercial wall coverings for restaurants and other businesses. We’ve even designed and manufactured picture murals for schools, libraries and other public spaces too. One thing we love among all the customised décor we do is a bit of positive affirmation and good home-spun philosophy – oh yes, we’ve put a lot of words on a lot of walls as well.

Wall graphics for Rolls Royce, Filton, Bristol

Rolls Royce came to Voodoo recently with a really great décor designed for wallpaper and murals for for a suite of rooms at their factory which they were going to use some purpose kept secret from us. There was a mural of aircraft outlines flying above a colour keyed and stylised map wall covering. There were some planes flying in formation on another very commercial wall graphic. Then there were the words for a further wall mural or two.

“Those words look familiar…”

The brief from Rolls Royce surprised us because it included a wall mural that contained precisely the words that sit on the studio wall here at Voodoo and which daily affirm that we need to improve in pursuit of excellence and when solutions don’t exist, design them. Spooky? Not really. We get our daily dose of upbeat motivation from the words of Sir Henry Royce. No surprise then that Rolls Royce wanted the very same words as part of the customised business décor we’d produce for them.

Our team printed the Rolls Royce business décor on a really hardwearing material with a reliable pressure sensitive adhesive that we’ve used before and then, closely supervised, we trimmed and applied our work to the walls at the Rolls Royce factory. Another job, safely completed.

Odd isn’t it, how big ideas travel and how a very solid business ethic can transcend industries and times? We’re really proud of the work we’ve done for Rolls Royce and we’re proud to be driven by the same philosophy that drives them too. Get in touch and see how we could work for you.

Contra Vision Exterior View delivers great image impact

Privacy for Windows. Contra Vision Installation

There’s a very popular leisure centre not far from The Voodoo DesignWorks. It’s on the Bradley Stoke housing development. The leisure centre is a family -oriented place with all sorts of really popular attractions including a swimming pool. It’s a great place but privacy for windows for its architectural-scale glazing had become a bit of a problem.

The pool features a very large glazed end elevation with views outward for swimmers and staff to a bordering tangle of dense woodland and to one of the estate’s main roads. From the outside, anyone could see straight into the swimming pool area whether they’re driving or strolling past, or walking in the woods. The swimmers didn’t like that.

We were called in to advise and to propose a workable solution.

Contra Vision being applied to the glazing exterior

We surveyed the site and because of the tricky lighting conditions prevailing, we called in some technical assistance from our friends at Contra Vision who specialise in materials for privacy for windows among other things. Between us, we determined that Contra Vision Performance 80/20 printable perforated film would do the job that was needed. Voodoo could print the film with an attractive design that couldn’t be seen through from outside, and yet once applied it would retain a view out for the swimmers inside.

So that’s what we did.

We designed a suitably swimmy mural and made the design fit the awkwardly shaped end elevation of the building. We next printed the Contra Vision Performance material. Big thumbs up. The eighty percent of the material dedicated to the image we were printing delivered a big impact. Scaffolding up. Contra Vision Performance applied.

Contra Vision Exterior View delivers great image impact

Total transformation. Anyone passing the pool now sees our big and very colourful mural on the building’s end elevation. Those inside, still have a great view out. Privacy glass functionality at a fraction of the price of reglazing acres of windows.

If you have a privacy or security issue with windows and glazing in publics spaces and places, give Voodoo a call. We can come up with practical solutions without throwing your budget in at the deep end.

Contra Vision delivers a clear view out and privacy for those inside.

Signs In Bristol - Voodoo Afloat

Signs In Bristol – Voodoo Afloat

Signs in Bristol – Just. Voodoo heads offshore…

It’s said that the two best days in your life are the day that you buy a boat, and the day that you manage to sell it again. So that said, most of the visitors to Ting Dene Boat Sales in Portishead Marina must be having a pretty good time. There’s a pretty neat routed sign by Voodoo there and that’ll help too.

Portishead Marina is a great example of urban renewal. Once a run-down and very scruffy looking deserted industrial dock, it’s now ringed with smart restaurants and apartments and its waters are home to visiting and resident boats. Signs in Bristol are looking positive. Wherever boats congregate in any quantity you’ll find a boat sales broker. Thanks to some smart routed signs by Voodoo, you’ll find Ting Dene in its marina home afloat easily.

Signs in Bristol - Ting Dene Boat Sales
Sign In Bristol - Portishead Marina

Ting Dene occupies premises afloat on the marina next to the crab catching pontoon. We produced some really snappy looking routed letters and logo elements and affixed them to the shed-like flanks of Ting Dene’s offices. It looks the part and doesn’t offend the character of the place one bit. Mindful of the sunny location and the amount of exposure to salt, we used very resistant materials for the Ting Dene routed sign.

Routed lettering adds a very classy touch to the simplest of signs and isn’t quite as pricey as it manages to look. We can apply such signs to more or less any surface and, as the Ting Dene sign demonstrates, we can do it more or less anywhere, Signs in Bristol being within very easy reach.

So if you’re looking for a big boat anytime soon, find your way to the lock end of Portishead Marina and push your way through the hoards of crab-catching kids. Beyond the throng you’ll find a beautifully signed office and someone there will happily take £250,000 off you.

Alternatively, if you need signs in Bristol or nationally to put your business on the map, make sure you contact Voodoo. We’ll ask for a lot less.

Van Graphics get you noticed

Van Graphics for Cost Effective Branding and Promotion

Van Graphics – Once Seen, Never Forgotten

If you’ve got a business and you want a lot of eyes to fall on its brand and remember it, one of the most cost-effective ways of making it happen is to use well designed and expertly produced vehicle livery and van graphics. The Voodoo DesignWorks can help. Our vehicle graphics turn heads, cost little, and so deliver knock out value.

Here’s one you may have seen. If you have, you’re sure to remember.

Must Dust is a cleaning company that’ll come into your business or home and leave it spotless. Perhaps the only thing that’ll be left behind is the memorable impression created by its winning Voodoo produced van graphics.

Van Graphics must be easy to read
Van Graphics can be used on any part of a vehicle

Must Dust’s vehicle graphics are a study in expert design brilliant execution. There’s a cobweb-like theme applied that covers virtually the whole vehicle and which is repeated centrally. It complete with a stylised spider looking a little unsure of what might be coming next.

Tastefully integrated icons make it clear that there’s a range of cleaning services on offer from Must Dust, without resorting to reams of barely legible text. The vehicle graphics do the job they’re designed to do, so that Must Dust can promote the job it does as well.

Voodoo makes vehicle livery and van graphics from quality materials so the message endures. The quality of the impression doesn’t diminish either and remember, that’s an impression that’s building thousands of times an hour as the van goes about its business.

Van graphics even work on the roof of a van

So, why not put vehicle graphics to work for your business too? Where there’s a van there’s a way. Voodoo tackles it all from design to visualisation; production and installation. One vehicle or a whole fleet. Small companies with big ideas or the biggest names in business.

Put wheels under your business. Van graphics from Voodoo. It’s how you’ll be remembered.

Digital Print - Event Promotion

Digital Print from the Voodoo Designworks

We make digital print work. Harder.

Digital print is a wonderful thing. The Voodoo DesignWorks makes it a little more wonderful still and our customers love us for it. What makes  wide-format digital printing by Voodoo such an effective medium is the equally wide range of things it can be used for. And the relatively low cost of using it.

When you come to Voodoo for promotional digital print you’re coming direct to the print’s source. Wide-format print starts with great design. You’re getting that direct from Voodoo too. Our client NAF Equine knocked on our door when it had an event to promote recently. NAF turned to us to put their brand on the map at the Hartpury Horse Trials and we turned to wide format digital printing to get the job done for them.

Digital Print - Perfect Media for Event Promotion
Digital Print used for ambient graphics

There’s a bit of an art to achieving a long-term impact with short-term graphics, especially if you want it to be a positive impact. Our wide format printing specialists went above and beyond though and achieved real stand-out for the NAF brand.

We surrounded and festooned NAF’s hospitality marquee with graphics confirming the brand’s stature in the equestrian sector. Large format prints and banners brought an added emphasis to signs designed around a rosette motif. It has exactly the look and feel we’d intended and that NAF had asked us for.

Our wide format print reinforced the fact that the NAF brand is associated with Team GBR’s British Equestrian Teams too. Wherever the eye looked at Hartpury, it would fall on a piece of wide-format print from Voodoo promoting NAF and its influence in equine sport and leisure.

“When all else fails, try a little Magic,” suggests some of the promotional wide-format prints we were very happy to supply to NAF. “Don’t wait that long,” we’d respond, “ get in touch with us. Try a lot of Voodoo supplied wide format digital print from the off.” It really works. Hard.

Cafe Sign in close up. Warm wood. Warm Welcome

Cafe Sign Promises a Warm Welcome

Five Grains’ Cafe Sign

The five grains comprise a grouping of cereals that were regarded as sacred in ancient China. Not a lot of people know that. The Five Grains is also a great cafe in Bristol and thanks to a great cafe sign by Voodoo, that’s something a lot of people do know.

Voodoo and signs for cafes are no strangers to each other. Restaurant signs in general have much to communicate beyond the name of the business that’s under the shopfront. In the case of Five Grains, its cafe sign has to say “wholesome” in a pretty big way and it has to play well with shopfront window graphics too. We think we got it right.

Cafe Sign and Shop Front

We started with as honest-a-looking slab of pine as you’ll ever see and turned it into the fascia sign’s background. It looks like it has seen a few summers but it’s well protected from the elements. Next comes the cafe signs’ lettering. That’s a fret-cut material with some very subtle things going on, if you look closely, those little design wrinkles are informed by elements of the superb printed window graphics underneath.

The cafe window graphics are printed on a great material that makes the window look as though it has had thousands of pounds lavished upon it in traditionally etched work. It hasn’t. Its a rather special film that we know how to work with and which can be removed if needed. There’s some eye-catching busy scribbles going on in the window graphics’ design and it counterpoints the simplicity of the shop front signs – goes against the grain you might say.

Cafe Sign window graphics. It's all in the detail
Cafe Sign lettering in detail. Perfect type face for the application

View a cafe signing fascade like this an an ensemble and we present something that clearly works. Behind the fascia, there’s a great business serving wholesome foods and lovely infusions to customers attracted by the ambience the business radiates. We’re proud to have played a part in delivering this experience and it’s a bit beyond the signs for cafes you might be used to seeing.

Give us a call if you think we could do the same for your cafe or restaurant.
